Mangalore: Milagres Church Celebrates International Women’s Day

Mangalore, Mar 8: International Women’s Day was celebrated on Sunday March 7 at Milagres Church in the city.

The celebration was inaugurated with the Holy Eucharistic Mass. Episcopal vicar Fr Stany Goveas was the main celebrant of the mass which was followed by a get together at the Senate Hall.

 

Fr Walter D’Mello led the prayer service. Guests were welcomed to the programme by the MC by offering them flowers.

Each one represented one of the deanery parishes. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp by Fr Goveas followed by Fr D’Mello, Lily Pereira, Alwyn Rosario, Gerald Pinto, and one representative from each parish.

Lily Pereira gave the keynote address which was followed by a slideshow on women empowerment by Patsy Lobo. There were various skits and songs by the participants.
