Bantwal, Aug 16: Achiever in the educational field, entrepreneur, and leader in social and community works, B Ahmed Hajee Mohiuddin Thumbay (89) died due to short period of illness on Sunday August 16 at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Ahmed Hajee was suffering from age-related illness. He was getting treated in a private hospital in the city. His family sources confirmed his death on Sunday.

Ahmed Hajee was well known in the timber business initially. He was an educationist and achieved many laurels in the educational field. He was active in social and religious fields also. He has served in various capacities in different organizations.

Funeral prayer of the late Ahmed Hajee will be held at 3.30 pm on Sunday at the Thumbay college campus. Thereafter he will be buried at the Thumbay Juma Masjid cemetery.

Ahmed Hajee is survived by wife, three sons and a daughter as well as scores of admirers.
