Udupi: Corona warriors get honoured at St John the Evangelist Church

Udupi, Aug 18: For their unrelenting service amid pandemic, Corona Warriors were honoured jointly by the Catholic Sabha, Sri Sangathan, Interfaith and Health commissions of St John the Evangelist Church, Pangala parish on Monday, August 17 at their community hall.
 
Speaking on this occasion, the parish priest Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves in his introductory address appreciated the selfless service rendered by the ASHA workers, doctors, nurses, village accountants and police personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 


























 
The doctor from Mooda Bettu Primary Health Centre, nurses and ASHA workers from Innanje, Kurkal and Mooda Bettu were felicitated for their dedicated and selfless service amid the pandemic. Village accountants from three panchayats were felicitated for their support and cooperation along with the police personnel for their tireless service to the people. The kits containing foodstuffs were distributed to ASHA Workers. While expressing gratitude to the organizers Dr Shiny from Mooda Bettu Primary Health Centre gave detailed information on preventive measures. Laster Carnelio, village accountant from Kurkal Panchayat praised the ASHA workers and said they deserve all the credit for their dedication.
 
Parish Council vice-president John Rodrigues, secretary Anita R D’Souza and Seema Margaret D’Souza Convenor - 18 Commissions were present on the occasion.
 
The president of the Interfaith Commission Agnes D’Sa welcomed the guest and the gathering. The Health Commission coordinator Jerome Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks. Sameera Rebello, president of Sri Sangathan compered the programme.
