Mangalore : IT Fest 'Epitome' Inaugurated at AIMIT

Mangalore, Mar 25 : Epitome-2010, the IT fest conducted by the students of MCA, MS (Software Technology) and M Sc (Bioinformatics) was inaugurated by Professor Narahari, registrar (evaluation), St Aloysius College (Autonomous) in the AIMIT auditorium at Beeri, Kotekar here on Thursday March 25.

Professor Narahari said that he has a very positive response towards the fests as he believes that each and everybody has talents and potentialities and that they will take them to greater heights. The capability of an individual will not be known to him unless he actively participates in an event like this. He asked the students to be more creative and innovative which will boost their personality. “The Buzzword to be successful is “co-operation”, he concluded.

The function began with the prayer song rendered by the students of AIMIT. Professor Santhosh Rebello welcomed the distinguished guests, the participants from various colleges and the student community. In his inaugural remarks, Rebello spoke about the history and the theme of epitome.












































Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, the director, in his inspirational input, quoting the example of Roger Banister, who broke the 4-minute record of 1 mile race in 1954 due to sheer hard work and goal to achieve, said that the students also need to work hard and equip themselves with knowledge and skills required for the IT jobs. He said there are ample opportunities for our youth to come up in life, and that globalization has really thrown open the whole world for them to conquer through their innovative thinking and courageous and bold step they take in life.

Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ, rector of Aloysian institutions presided over the function. He lauded the students for organizing the event very meticulously. He greeted the participants and motivated them to involve in the fun and frolics, exploring and for choosing innovative themes “This time we go green” for Infovision and “Conquering Heights” for epitome. He also acknowledged all the organizers and expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries. 
 
Ruban proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Jeevan Prabhu SJ, dean ( Finance and administration), professor Santhosh Rebello, dean (  IT section), Rakesh Kumar, the faculty coordinator of epitome,  Suman, Nainitha and Fiona, the student coordinators  among others were present.

    Thanks Mr Max Rasquinha & Mrs Jessie for your appreciation of the students’ activities at AIMIT. You have been a source of inspiration to all our students. And all those who visit this campus really appreciate the ambience which has been created by those wonderful, priceless paintings you have donated.

    I want to congratulate prof Santhosh Rebello and his team of faculty members and students for working hard to make epitome, the IT fest a grand success. Mr Rajesh Kumar, the faculty coordinator of epitome, and his team of faculty members Mr Ruben, Mr Suman and others along with Lloyd, the President of Elixir, Swathantra Singh, Nainitha, Mrs Deborah Vijay, the faculty coordinator for the life science section of infovision and the students teams have really worked hard to make this event successful.

    We are having this event after a lapse of two years…and I want to congratulate all the students for their active involvement. The theme “let us go green” for infoVISION was also very relevant, and I hope we will be able to practice what we preach!!!

    Fr. Denzil, Nice to see that AIMIT is promoting Innovation in technology, in today's world of Aggressive and Intense competition and cost cutting from China and other other countries , early cultivation of a culture of cutting edge technology and entrepreneurship should be encouraged in order to survive and beat the competition, Happy to see that you made tremendous progress from the time you had envisioned a concept, Good Luck to you and all the students graduating from AIMIT in achieving Great Heights.

    We have a dream that one day AIMIT will produce some of the bestest IT experts that will create headlines not only in India but also in the world of technology. We have a dream that Beeri will turn into a tourist attraction because not only the place is so beautifully located with a state of the art architecture but also has some of the finest faculty members that will transform the quality of students to the highest standards in India. We also have a dream that some of these students will bring so much of success to the Jesuit Institution that the complex will multiply its strength and wealth to the greatest heights possible.
