Byndoor, Aug 30: Byndoor constituency has been allocated around Rs 800 crore for development projects. Rs 550 crore has been earmarked to solve drinking water issues and the central government has already sanctioned Rs 250 crore. Rs 300 crore proposal is pending before the state government and approval is expected soon. In the next two years every household will get tap water from Varahi river," said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

He was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for a concrete road under Gangolli gram panchayat here on Sunday August 30. The road is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore.

"From several years people have been demanding concrete road here. The public works department (PWD) has provided 1.15 crore towards the project. Byndoor fishing jetty has been allocated 12 crore, of which 4 crore has already been sanctioned to start the project. Rs 3.5 cr has been allocated for sand dredging in the jetty area. Rs 86 crore has been reserved for Maravanthe jetty in the state budget. Koderi port development has been allocated 4.8 crore.

"Other pending projects are Gangolli ring road and construction of other roads. Within three years Byndoor constituency will be made a model constituency. Gujjadi gram panchayat has been allocated Rs 50 lac for road projects. B R Ambedkar colony in Nada gram panchayat has been allocated Rs 20 lac for development works," the MLA said.

Several people were present at the ceremony, including BJP mandal presedent Byndoor Deepakumar Shetty, zilla panchayat member Shobha G Puthran, Suresh Batwade, taluk panchayat members Surendra Kharvi, vice-president Prema C Poojary, former mandal head B Sadanand Shenoy, PWD engineer Durgadas, assistant engineer Raghavendra Nayak, contractor Ravikiran D'Costa, BJP leasers Ashok Sansadi, Gopal Nada, Umesh Mesta, Shekar Devadiga, Harish Mesta, Gangolli gram panchayat members Dinesh Sherugar, local BJP workers and locals.

    BJP's capability is do make any area only upto 'Gujrat Model'. Yeddy has no money, state is in deep financial crisis, govt employees salaries haven't been paid, Yeddy is desperately opening new liquor stores and GST is not enough and no compensation from the centre. So, how this MLA is getting Rs 800 crores??????........
