Bengaluru, Aug 31: Karnataka deputy chief minister (DCM) Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, said that Karnataka has been slowly but steadily staging a recovery in spite of coronavirus infection. He also said that among the people too, awareness has spread about the infection. He was speaking at a webinar organized on Sunday on the subject of 'Leadership and Country First during corona times' on Sunday, organised by Ananth Kumar Foundation.

"Karnataka state has emerged as one of the states in the forefront which have effectively handled coronavirus crisis. The lives of the citizens are returning to normalcy fast. In the country, our state tops among the states which have been recovering fast economically," he stated.

He noted that newer services are getting unlocked in stages. "Many states are in utter confusion about how to handle the situation in the coming days. But Karnataka has been marching ahead under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concept of self-reliance. Under this spirit, barring a handful of activities, we have opened up all other activities. In tax collection too, we are showing good progress," he said expressing satisfaction.

The DCM said that the government has undertaken several reforms to provide impetus to the industrial sector that has been battered by coronavirus. He cited measures like Land Reforms Act, APMC Amendment Act, Labour Reform Act and other legal measures undertaken at a fast pace to negate the coronavirus influence.

Tejaswini Ananth Kumar of the foundation, MLA Ravi Subrahmanya, and others were present.
