Mangaluru, Aug 31: On the occasion of National Sports Day on August 30, Vice President (VP) of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, greeted the people of the country. When tweeting his greetings, along with some others, Naidu also used a photo of Kambala in action. This gesture of the VP has won lavish appreciation from the people of coastal Karnataka in particular.
While greeting the people of India on National Sports Day, he agreed that the sports sector has suffered because of coronavirus. "In the current scenario, it is important to maintain mental and physical health. Only then we can effectively fight against this infection. For that, keep doing Yoga and other exercises regularly and make 'Fit India' a people' movement, he had said.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, has retweeted this message. "VP M Venkaiah Naidu, who has wished the people on the National Sports Day and given a call for 'Fit India', has shared a photograph of the proud folk sport of coastal Karnataka, Kambala. On behalf of the people of Karnataka, we hereby convey our thanks to the VP for this gesture," he said in the tweet.
