Udupi: ‘Rekha Sambhrama’ Inaugurated at Yakshagana Centre

“The art of drawing the line (pencil work) is the basis of fine art.  Each line has its own significance and underlying strength”, said Chi Su Krishna Shetty, president, Sanchalana - Karnataka visual art community.
 
Krishna Shetty was speaking at the ‘Rekha Sambhrama’ held at the Yakshagana Centre here on Sunday March 28. The programme was organized under the aegis of MGM College Yakshagana Centre and in association with Sanchalana and Udupi Artists Forum.


“The artists are making their mark in their professions, and the response of art enthusiasts is essential.  The artists should develop their fans from among art lovers”, he added.
 
“The message in the art should be identified.  The artist and art lovers should come together in an informal meet.  The art lovers foster the art and artists gain popularity”, said Shetty.  
 
Renowned artist Chandranath Acharya inaugurated the event.
 
Artists Forum president Ramesh Rao presided over the programme.
 
Dr Govind Pai Research Centre director Heranje Krishna Bhat, Nirmiti Centre project director Arun Kumar, Mumbai artist Professor H L Nayak, J M S Mani, and Purushottam Adve were present on the dais.
 
Saku Pangala compered the programme.
 
Rekha artistes Bhaskar Rao, J M S Mani, K N Ramachandran, S Subramanyan, Ramesh Rao, Vijay Hagaragundagi, M S Murthi, A M Prakash, B S Desai, Kishore Kumar, Vittal Reddy Chulaki, Shivakumar, Krishna Raichur, Subash Kammar, Basavaraj Gavimat, Ramesh Chouhan, Dinesh holla, G Kandan, Jayavanth, Anil Devadiga, Purushottam Adve and others were present on the occasion.
