Dubai, Sep 3: With restrictions on travel getting relaxed, countries are accommodating movement of people from one part of the globe to another. However, there are a certain set of rules being laid down for the passengers which they are required to follow as a precautionary measure amid the prevailing pandemic.

Similarly, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has also released specific guidelines for passengers travelling to the UAE.

Guidelines for airlines:

At check-in counters, airlines are responsible for conducting the following checks:

• Availability of a COVID-19 PCR test report (soft or hard copy) with a validity of no longer than 96 hours.
• All COVID-19 PCR test results must be signed and stamped by a healthcare provider
• All COVID-19 PCR test results must be in English or have a translation of the result in English
• Additional reports of case assessment or other tests such as Rapid test for Antigen or antibody are not required and cannot replace the COVID-19 PCR test report.
• All COVID-19 PCR test report should have name and contact details of the laboratory/health institute who are providing the test results.
• Information should be clearly written in block letters for easy understanding.
• Passengers with Positive/detected COVID-19 PCR test results must not be allowed to board the flight.
• Damaged COVID-19 PCR test reports should not be accepted at the check-in counter.
• The 96-hour time frame for accepting COVID-19 PCR test should start from the date of sample/swab collection not from the date of report issuing.
• Airline operator ground staff should confirm that the laboratory/health institute that provided the COVID-19 PCR test report is accredited and licensed by the country ministry of health or what equivalent or accredited by Pure Health laboratories as per the link below: https://www.icmr.gov.in/pdf/covid/labs/archive/COVID_Testing_Labs_11062020.pdf
• A hard copy of the COVID-19 PCR test report is required and will be collected at arrivals in Dubai airport

The authorities have requested for complete cooperation from the passengers and urged the airlines to follow the guidelines issued.
