Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Sep 7: The district administration is grappling with the problem of making available facilities needed for providing treatment to coronavirus infected people hailing from not only Dakshina Kannada but also other districts.

Private hospitals and Wenlock Hospital altogether have 120 intensive care unit beds, 117 ventilator beds, and 611 high oxygen beds. All of them are occupied now, and providing beds to all those who are in need of emergency treatment is becoming a huge challenge.

He said that for the infected students, separate provision has been made at the Bannanje social welfare department's girls’ hostel.

The number of ICU beds allotted for corona is too less considering we have so many hospitals and colleges. Pls request them to allot few more ICU beds for Covid.
