Bengaluru, Sep 9: High court advocate Arun Shyam, has been appointed as the additional advocate general of Karnataka. His appointment was made through an order passed by the state government on Tuesday September 8.

Arun Shyam is from Panjigadde in Bantwal taluk. He secured his degree in law through Vivekananda College Puttur. After getting his LLM degree from Kuvempu University, Arun started his professional life at the state high court. He happens to be a member of the academic council of National Law School.

Arun Shyam has been appointed in the place vacated by former advocate general, R Nataraj, who has been elevated as high court judge.

    Sir, Our assembly constituency (Mudigere) is a reserved for SC category for over 50 years. 25% of the constituency population of SC category are allowed to represent since independence, depriving the right to the rest of other 75% for decades. Now I have filed a writ petition in the High Court appealing to change the constituency to general category since sufficient opportunity has been provided to the SC category. I have also appealed to the CJ to stay the election process of Mudigere constituency till the issue is resolved. One of my friends suggested to seek your help for necessary guidance as the case is assigned to an advocate by the High Court Legal Aid committee who has filed case on 05/04/2023. If I can get your help kindly let me know further process to be followed. Though I submitted my appeal on 01/02/2023 filing delayed for over a month due to legal aid procedural process.
