Dubai, Sep 9: As much as Mangalureans love to celebrate Monthi feast in the church with cultural events, this year has given all a different approach on social media platforms. Konkan Yuva, a youth wing of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai, will host a virtual concert on September 11 on the occasion of the Feast of Nativity of Mary which is celebrated by Catholics in coastal Karnataka as a family feast.
‘Monthi Soban’ will be exclusively telecasted on Konkan Yuva Dubai YouTube Channel as well as on Konkan Yuva Facebook Page.
Well-known singers namely Joseph Mathias, Loretta Dsilva, Wilson Saldanha, Sharal D’Costa, Deelon Colaco, Zeena Pinto, Harish Sherigar, Sheetal D’Souza, Jeethan Mascarenhas, Sweeny D’Souza, Jeethan D’Cunha, and Errol D’Souza will lead and direct the music team containing musicians namely Jeevan D’Souza and Valen Sequeira. Dance team ‘Feet Beat’ led by Arun Lobo will get viewers on feet and for more laughter, team SMK is joining them.
Viyon Robin will host the show in his inimitable style with timely punches and humorous interaction.
Spiritual director Fr Denis Saldanha OFM Cap said, “In this pandemic Konkan Yuva has picked the right platform to exhibit their talents as well as to reach everyone’s homes.”
Vivian Fernandes, president, Konkan Yuva said, “This year marks the 15th year of our inception. Konkan Yuva prides itself in harnessing the talents of its members. Members have geared up for the event and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure this event is a memorable one and we are sure that the viewers will be pleasantly pleased with our event."
