Davanagere: Doctor alleging harassment from IAS officers transferred to Koppal

Daijiworld Media Network – Davangere (EP)

Davanagere, Sep 9: Dr M H Raveendranath who was in the news for running an auto-rickshaw for a living after getting tired after being allegedly harassed by IAS officers has been transferred by the government as family welfare officer in Koppal district. The doctor is expected to resume duty in two or three days.

Dr Raveendranath who was employed as RCH officer in Ballary district was allegedly suspended without reason. “The government has withheld my salary for the last 15 months. Therefore, I am running an auto for living in Davanagere,” he had told earlier.

Dr Raveendranath was suspended by Nithin, the then CEO of Ballari district panchayat, alleging that the doctor had committed a mistake in e-tender process of NHM scheme. Dr Raveendranath had questioned the suspension in KAT (Karnataka Administrative Tribunal). The KAT had ruled that Dr Raveendranath had not made any mistake. Dr Raveendranath was later transferred as senior medical officer of Sedam taluk hospital.

Dr Raveendranath had again questioned his transfer as taluk officer in KAT when he was in fact a district level officer. The KAT had ruled that Dr Raveendranath should be given the position of district level officer. “But the order was not implemented and some officials have reportedly told that the position will be given only on payment of money,” alleged Dr Raveendranath.

Justice is not done till the corrupt official is sacked from the job. We want to see a political will to root out corruption from every part of the government.

Thanks for this swift handling of this honest doctors saga.
higher officials must be put on leash, and monitored as to how they treat their subordinates,

I knew after this courageous doctor took to auto rickshaw to highlight his injustice at the hands of IAS fellow, Good govt acted swiftly and delivered a fair justice to this doctor,
