Karkala: Gang ambushes youth on bike, assaults him over purchase of cow

Karkala, Sep 9: A gang that arrived in a car ambushed a man identified as Sujay Devadiga (30) when he was riding his bike at Gummettu here on Sep 8 at about 7 pm and thrashed him indiscriminately.

Yogish alias Munna, Ravi Acharya alias Abhi, Nithin and other 17 men were said to be suspects in the case. Sujay who was seriously injured has been admitted to Karkala taluk government hospital. A case in this connection has also been registered in Karkala rural police station.

Details of the incident:

Seetharama Malekudiya, residing in Jangottu colony, Idu village had bought a cow from Babu Poojary for dairy farming on July 22. Babu Poojary and Sujay Devadiga had tied the cow in the shed of Seetharama Malekudiya.

Meanwhile, Abdul Rehman had come to the vicinity that evening to buy a goat when a gang accosted his car and damaged it. There were also allegations that the gang entered the residence of Seetharama and assaulted him. A case in this connection was also registered in the rural police station. It is said that the assault on Sujay has occurred as a continuation of the case.

    There is absolutely no order and law existing in our India at present.Everyone does and acts as one want.Police close eyes and supports many times the gangs.money speaks .law is gone to dogs.Gangs are on the front,assault and killing is a daily we hear.Simply riding on bikes and see where one can assault with or without reason.Best is one should have a weapon ready when emergency exists.

    Did police take action on first case? If no then no use of complaining again to same. If police taken action on first instance then today's incident wouldn't happen.

    Recently, a lot of instances can be seen where the Indian judiciary has taken up Suo Moto cases. Why not try applying the principle to these cases where by gangs have been taking up police role and create goonda raj?
    What ever may be the case, refer them to the police, involve the media, but never take law into one own hand and harm others. If there is over enthusiasm to fight and harm others, we need to send them to chinese border on priority basis..

    Don't forget we r the 2nd largest populated country in the world. So it is natural that we r 2nd in Covid 19 cases. But don't forget the death rate per lakh of population is the least in India compare to any country in the world. So don't blame Govt for over population.     Will you agree for Chines style lockdowns?
    The whole of Wuhan city with approx. 12 million people was locked down. No one could get in nor anyone could go out. The medicines and food were air dropped and there was stampedes. later, people started to die on roads.People started entering other's houses forcible for food and medicines. You might have seen videos of people securing apartments by nailing planks on windows and doors. They shut down the internet completely. Will you agree?
