Bengaluru, Sep 10: Lockdown hit hard many people in various ways. The hearts of ardent moviegoers who got satisfaction out of watching films in theatres had sunk after the lockdown was imposed and their repeated hopes of the reopening of theatres were dashed with the announcement of gradual relaxations.
Many of these audiences are fans of certain actors. Their long wait of about six months promises to end soon as there are favourable indications for the reopening of the theatres. Union home minister Amit Shah is said to have permitted the theatres to open again as per information provided to a news channel by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Gubbi Jairaj. He said during an online meeting with the South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday that the centre has agreed to open the film theatres from October 1 and that guidelines would be out by the second week of September.
The theatre owners who are incurring huge losses are relieved that their wait is coming to an end shortly.
