Bengaluru: 'No one in history of India has taken such strict action against drugs' - CM Yediyurappa

Bengaluru, Sep 10: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa said that no one in the history of India has taken such strict action against narcotic drugs case as the state BJP government.

Speaking to the scribes at his home office Krishna in the city on Thursday, September 10, Yediyurappa said, "There is no question of protecting anyone when it comes to a narcotic drug case. The earlier government closed its eyes on this subject. No one in the history of India had taken such stringent measure. CCB is investigating the matter. Everyone will be brought to light."

"Though drugs dealing was going on since the past 10 years, earlier governments were not giving any attention. However, this time around we will make a comprehensive investigation."

Speaking on coronavirus pandemic situation, Yediyurappa said, "I have had a video conference with DC and CEOs with regards to the measures in place for controlling Covid-19 infection. Instructions are given to continue house to house survey. There is no shortage of ventilators and oxygen beds in any district in the state."

CM also clarified that elaborate discussion was held with DCs on Covid-19 and destruction due to rain. He also said that there is Rs 25 to 30 crore funds in every DC's account. So there is no dearth of money.

Responding on the query of cabinet extension, Yediyurappa said, "I will be going to Delhi in four to five days time as soon as the BJP high command gives me the slot for discussion. I will discuss cabinet extension as well as flood relief with the high command."

    Drug and Narcotics are both harmful to human kind. But then it's trade is prospering under the able protection of Political leaders. Even an uneducated, illiterate citizen will tell the world that it is a huge business where high profile politicians, other babus are involved. All Governments either Congress or BJP have been surely involved in secretly supporting this dreaded trade. While victims are just the middlemen who supply and suffer now. Others are safe under the safe protection of big wigs. !!
    Similarly dear CM, please try and be the first Government in clearing the corrupt politicians from the system. Let us be the First State to start those actions.
    So next head line will be : 'No one in history of India has taken such strict action against corrupt Politicians ' - says our CM.

    As per reports, according to the recorded messages submitted to the court,the drug mafia was tipped off from the police department about the raids,2 months before , a thorough investigation should be done and the identity of the person who leaked the information should be found and action should be taken, preferably dismissal.

    Most of ruling politicians do not understand ramifications of drug menace... they are uneducated / fraud educated (bogus claims to education)... mistress, MP/MLA seats for children, land grab/acquisition here and there and all over, starting money spinner colleges, saluting their neta and pandering to vote bank etc. etc. are their full time activities...

    Only parents who seen drug abuse among children will know the pains...

    Parents to spend more time with children, speak in mother-tongue as much as possible at home, cultivate interest in traditions, do not glorify success in terms of money / positions, allow children to pursue their aptitude rather than forcing them to mug up and study to be "doctor" or "engineer"... keep them as day scholars rather than sending them to hostels out of station...

    I hope u would put all the corrupt politicians, beuracrats in jail in the same manner.
    But that u won't do.
    When influencial people are put in jail in drug case, that itself is a money making scheme for politicians and police. None of them wil get convicted, all will come out on bail after 14 days custody hogwash

    should i laugh or cry? on the one hand, this Govt withdraws all criminal complaints against its MLAs en-masse and then states it is after drugs (crime)---and the kingpins of the trade would, in all likelihood, be from/have the blessings of the same crowd that has had cases withdrawn.

    What a joke. Really want to take strict action leave it to the CBI. And avoid any type of political/politicians involvement in the inquiry.

    Give the mandate to the inquiry committee (CBI) 1 to 2 months to knock down the real culprits and close the case.

    Is it possible for the CM declare this? Can he do this?

    Drug like now alcohol which can be available from everywhere ! top of that you borrowed or imported criminal mafia from AFRICAN countries as your guest knowing the fact that they are GRADUATED to execute the DRUG MAFIA TRADE. There is no denial on the fact that GOVT officials are involved in it including the " innocent" politicians. I guess how they are able to amass the money to win the ELECTION now I got the simple clue as this money is not accountable from IT department.

    It simply means he will close the cases specially if it belongs to BJP politicians and their children at a later stage just like he closed 62 cases just last week against BJP leaders.
