Georgia reports record high of 196 new Covid-19 cases


Tbilisi, Sep 16 (IANS): Georgia reported 196 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest number since the outbreak of the virus in the country, taking the tally to 2,758.

Of the 196 new cases, 145 were confirmed in the western Adjara region, the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health.

As of Wednesday, 1,412 of the 2,758 patients have recovered, while 19 others have died, said the center.

Georgia reported the first confirmed case on February 26, Xinhua reported.
