1,249 test positive, J&K COVID tally crosses 67,000


Srinagar, Sep 23 (IANS): Jammu & Kashmir saw 1,249 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday as the total number of people infected crossed 67,000 in the Union territory.

A statement issued by the information and public relations department said 1,249 people tested positive - 646 from Jammu division and 603 from Kashmir division.

The total number of people infected with coronavirus reached 67,510 in J&K out of which 46,530 have recovered completely.

20 patients succumbed on Wednesday - 16 in Jammu division and 4 in Kashmir division. So far, 1,062 people have died due to the dreaded virus.

The number of active cases is 19,918 out of which 11,544 are in Jammu division and 8,374 are from Kashmir division.
