Mangalore: Thanks to Daijiworld, Lion Cubs at Pilikula Get a Sponsor
Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 16: In a noble gesture of supporting zoos and parks, a donor from Dubai has come forward to sponsor the two month-old lion cubs belonging to Pilikula Biological Park, after reading about the park on Daijiworld.com.

Jayaprakash Bhandary, director of the park at Pilikula, expressed his gratefulness to Daijiworld for supporting the initiatives of the Park. He informed that K G Shenoy, an NRI, has come forward to sponsor the lion cubs with a donation of 4 Lac Rupees, after reading the news on Daijiworld. He was of the opinion that the sponsors will get encouraged, if the names for the cubs are chosen from those suggested by them.

Daijiworld has been instrumental in reaching out to the needy people, by publishing their appeals, and has so far succeeded in mopping up over Rs 2.75 crore help for those facing a crisis in their lives, from its generous readers spread all over the globe. These appeals have been appearing regularly in the website of Daijiworld since the last nine years.

Daijiworld takes pride in the fact that for the first time, it could be of help to the park stated above, as conservation and promoting of nature and the wild animals like lions, elephants etc., is the need of the hour, at a time when forests are getting wiped out because of fast urbanization.

My humble apologies. During my busy travels I read the msg as Lion club and not Lion Cubs. I shall still visit the Pilikula on my way to Vamanjoor where I have to address the young students at the St.Joseph Engineering College, anyway. I have also been a frequent visitor to the Institute of Handicapped children close-by to Pilikula that was established by late Mrs. Mohini Nayak. Thanks, Mr. Richard for your kind correction.

    Mr. Rasquinha,

To correct you this is not a Lions Club but Lion cubs in a park at Pilikula. What are you going to address to the Lion cubs not your nest visit.

    All the Best.

Congratulations and best wishes to Pilikula Lions Club. Its a long time since I visited Pilikula. I would be happy to visit the Pilikula Lions Club on my next trip to Mangalore. I have now been elected as a President of Houston Down Town Lions Club, the 94 year old Founders Club.

Our club is patronized by mostly the veterans of WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War, and it will be nice to share some of their valuable msgs to the Lions of Pilikula. I am an active Lion for the past 31 years in Canada and the U.S.A.

Sponsorship is fine...afraid next day if not anybody come forward to arrange visa to these...and these will face problem like there was a incidental joke..just read....Dubai Visa.
In a poor zoo of India , a lion was
Frustrated as he was offered not more than 1 kg of meat a day.

The lion thought its prayers were answered. When one day a Dubai Zoo Manager
Visited the zoo and requested the zoo management to shift the lion to Dubai Zoo.

The lion was so happy and started thinking of a central A/C environment, a
    goat or two every day.

On its first day after arrival, the lion was offered a big bag, sealed very nicely for breakfast. The lion opened it quickly but was shocked to see that it contained few bananas. The lion thought that may be they cared too much for him as they were worried about his stomach as he had recently shifted from india.

The next day the same thing happened. On the third day again the same food
    Bag of bananas was delivered.

The lion was so furious it stopped the delivery boy and blasted at him,'
Don’t you know I am the lion...king of the Jungle..., what's wrong with your management? What nonsense is this? Why are you delivering bananas to me?

The delivery boy politely said, 'Sir, I know you are the king of the jungle ... but... you have been brought here on a monkey's visa!!! '
