Naveen Padil’s ‘Anchila atth Ennchila aath’ in Doha on Apr 30

Doha, April 18: Tulu comedy play ‘Anchila atth Ennchila aath’ (Neither there nor here) directed by Naveen Padil will be performed on Friday April 30 at the Doha Cinema at 5.30 pm under the aegis of Tulu Koota, Qatar. 

A 20 member troupe including three women, a production of Kishore D Shetty of ‘Lakumi’ group, Mangalore, will stage the nonstop show and entertain the audience for three hours. 

“As this drama has become the talk of the town in Tulu region, and has already been performed in many parts of India and Gulf states, the enthusiastic Tulu community of Qatar was also anxious to watch it here. Hence, the Tulu Koota which has been spearheading efforts in providing a taste of culture to the Tulu community has taken this initiative to realize their dream”, said Ravi Shetty, president, Tulu Koota. 

With most of the tickets sold out, those interested can get some from Maharaja Restaurant, Swagath Restaurant (Najma), Akshaya and Canara Jewelleries, at the earliest. 

Pallonji, Qatar, is the event sponsor and Advanced Technical Services (ATS) and UAE Exchange, Qatar, are the main sponsors of this event. 

Prior to the play, Tulu Koota, Qatar, will celebrate its Annual Day. On the occasion, the local artists of the Koota will stage a short skit. 

Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, Indian Ambassador to Qatar, will be the chief guest and Seetharam Kulal, former president, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, along with popular Tulu TV anchors and MCs Kadri Navaneeth Shetty and Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, will be the guests of honor.  

Navaneeth Shetty, as master of the ceremony, will give an added impetus to the whole event.  A souvenir ‘NIREL 2010’ will be released on the occasion. A CD of the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan, held for the first time in Ujire, will also be released on the occasion. 

Ravi Shetty, president, Tulu Koota, Qatar, has appealed to the Tulu expatriate community of Qatar to join and enjoy this humorous show which is being staged in the country for the first time.
