Pawar Backs Patel, says Let IPL Links be Probed

Mumbai, April 25 (IANS) Nationalist Congress Party chief and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar Saturday backed his party and ministerial colleague Praful Patel, who is caught in an ugly Indian Premier League (IPL) row.

"Let the investigation take place. Patel has done nothing wrong," Pawar told reporters, ruling out any possibility of the civil aviation minister's resignation.

Patel is accused of having shared an e-mail with former junior foreign minister Shashi Tharoor containing projections of franchisee valuations for the bidding of new IPL teams.

However, Pawar said the document was not classified and asked the media not to jump to any conclusion.
