Mangalore, Apr 25: “Fr Muller’s Institution is an ideal to society, and has achieved a great milestone in health care service”, said Margaret Alva, Governor of Uttarakhand, at the silver jubilee finale and graduation ceremony of Fr Muller Homeopathic College and Hospital in Deralakatte on Sunday April 25.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that Fr Augustus Muller by initiating health care service helped thousands benefit.

“His initiative has developed greatly”, she said adding that construction of a building may be easy but converting it to a medical hospital is difficult.

“The number of girls attending health service courses is on the rise”, she added.

Dr Ramjee Singh, president, Central Council of Homeopathy, was the guest of honour. He released the silver jubilee souvenir of the institution.

Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the function.

Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, Fr Muller Charitable Institutions, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, administrator, FMCHH, and Dr Shrinath Rao, principal of the college, were also present.

We must appreciate late Rev. Dr. Basil D'Souza, former Bishop of Mangalore Diocese who with great pain started Fr. Muller's Homeopathic Medical College when there were no such colleges in Mangalore and Udupi. It was an adventurous step initiated by Dr. Basil D'Souza. Congratulations to the leaders of the college and his team. Keep it up.

I met Her excellency Margaret Alva last evening at an engagement Party and she was all praise for FMCI. and she is right in her view that Father Muller's should be held as a Role Model for other Institutions.

With regard to The Homeopathic Medical College I was very much with Father Muller's when it made a beginning with the help of Dr.Davle from Bombay who came down to Mangalore with the specific purpose of initiating The College. It looks as if it was just the other day that Father Peter Noronha - the then Director took the trouble to start the College ably assisted by Father Patrick Rodrigues, Father Stany Tauro and also Father Lawrence D'Souza (presently - Director, St. John's Medical College, Bangalore.) It is not surprising that Father Patrick after his Health Care Studies at a prestigious University in U.S.A. is back at the helm of affairs inFMCI.

A special word of appreciation to Father Prakash who is presently guiding the destiny of The Homeo Medical College and Hospital.

It was during Bishop Basil's tenure that gave birth to the Homeo Medical College and it is Bishop A.P.'s privilege to be present for the Silver Jubilee Celebrations. It is also during Our Bishop's tenure that the Allopathy department has been up-graded as a regular Medical College. Kudos to the pioneers and the present dedicated team of persons like Fr. Patrick, Fr. Stany, Father Denis, Fr. Wilfred, Fr. Vincent, Fr. Felix and Fr. Apolinaris who are bringing a name and fame to FMCI.

    Folks,

I salute Mrs Margaret Alva for admiting Congress sold tickets in last assembly election when she was GS of Congress party...

She was made to pay a heavy price for speaking the truth....

We need courageous leaders like her, not "Vidhvans" who speak very smoothly, always smile from ear to ear and do nothing.....

Thats why these "Vidhvans" cant and wont win any more in undivided DK......because people know them very well by now....Its not communal politics, its not votes for notes, its not Cow effect, its not Yeddy magic, its not Parivars backstreet boys(as VS Acharya believes),its peoples geting sick and tired of these "Vidhvans" and these fellows pretending nothing has happened!!!

Congress will regain its lost glory, the day these "Vidhvans" disappear from radar screen!!!!
