Kalaburagi, Nov 10: In a bizarre incident that has come to light in the district, a woman is trying to get her Aadhar card since 12 years. This woman in question, a 30-year-old, has applied 12 times till date for the card. In addition, she has given finger print and photo also.

Because of not able to get the Aadhar card, this woman did not get the benefit given by the government under various schemes. When the authorities finally traced why the woman is not getting her Aadhar card, they were in for a surprise. She used to give fingerprints for her son’s Aadhar card instead of her own.

The woman who created hassles for herself in this manner is Eeramma, resident of Ravoor village of Chittapur taluk of the district. From 2008, Eeramma has continuously done fingerprint scanning, eye scanning and photograph. However, her Aadhar card is not getting generated. Eeramma says that so far she has spent nearly Rs 10,000 for this purpose but not got her card yet.

Jagadish Poojary, brother of Eeramma requested the authorities to look into the matter of his sister not getting the Aadhar card. Because of non-availability of the card, she is not able to get any benefits announced by the government under various schemes.

The reason for her delay in getting Aadhar card came to light only when she met Aadhar registration officers at the Mini Vidhana Soudha of the district after her repeated attempts to get the same at Wadi and Chittapur Aadhar registration centres failed. Eeramma gave her fingerprints during the registration of her son Bheemashankar's card in 2008, which has caused the blunder.

Though Eeramma tried several times since 2008, her attempt got rejected for technical reasons. On the contrary, her son Bheemashankar has got two different Aadhar cards, one on his own fingerprint and other on his mother's fingerprints.

Senior officers of Aadhar card registration department, clarified all these points. They have also assured that this will be rectified but it needs a lot of time.

Anyway, finally this problem will be solved.

In Bangalore, there is a 65 year old woman, whose small finger print of one hand, the computer rejects, every time she goes to make Aadhaar card. She said, because whole life she made hard work, no lines in her finger are visible. She was told to go to doctor, who gave some medicine, after taking medicine, even after one month, computer rejected the finger print. They checked by applying powder and see on the mirror, whether some lines are seen. Yes, there are some fine lines, but while it is taken by computer, the screen does not turn to blue signal. Up to now, nobody is able to help her. Probably, she may have to go to senior officers of Aadhaar card department, like this woman did.

In this case, the staff who processed the aadhar card, should be held fully responsible. Was it not the staff's responsibility to make sure the right person's finger prints are taken in first place?

Cynthia Kirem, yes that made her famous but without any benefits since 12 years.May be the benefits were cashed by staff?one never know.Otherwise why did the staff not realize finger prints were from her on sons card and he had two cards?Strange things happen in India.Or she had not given to staff enough to carry on with her card?.Instead of benefits she spent thousands on all needed fotos or what not.

Yes... true Rita... But, one doesnt have to bribe while making aadhar card but in respect of other documents yes... May be what you say is true. In her case, staff personally was harassing her by taking the finger prints of her son when she didn't give money when she was asked ...yes... Agree anything can happen.

Can not hold the government responsible for your own foolishness.
