Mangaluru, Nov 11: Sleuths of the District Crime Information Bureau (DCIB) on Tuesday November 10, busted a ganja smuggling racket and arrested two people in connection with the case.

The arrested accused are T P Farook (50), resident of Ansari cross road, Bunder and Sagar Singh (22), resident of Gorahidang, Milan Chauk-14, Rajpur, Daag district, Nepal. Currently, he is staying at a PG near PVS circle. It is said the accused have confessed doing the crime.

According to police, the accused were arrested from Melkar bus stand, while they were trying to sell the ganja to consumers on BC Road to Mani.

Police have seized 1.480 kg ganja, a Maruthi Brezza car (KA-19-MJ-1048), a total worth of Rs 10,32,900 from the accused.

The accused have been sent to Bantwal town police station for further inquiry.

DCIB inspector Cheluvaraju B, Uday Rai, Praveen M, Tharanath, Praveen Rai, Shoon Shah, Suresh and Samapath and Diwakar from technical department, took part in the operation.
