Mangalore, May 8: ‘Sagar Ratna’ group of hotels, which has carved out a niche for itself among the chains of elite hotels in the country, having been backed by the aim of super-specialty services at affordable rates, will be opening its new hotel, ‘Ocean Pearl’ in the city shortly. This budget hotel, which will have 70 deluxe rooms, 10 suites and four studio rooms, is coming up at Navbharat Circle in the city. The otel, being opened by a chain which is being patronized by more and more connoisseurs of taste, comfort and affordability of late, promises to become a pride of the fast-developing city.

Promoted by the Sagar Ratna Group, The Ocean Pearl brings with it a plethora of hospitality experience, inspiring customer feedbacks and a proven service record. The Ocean Pearl promises an extravagant living experience without compensating reasonability in pricing. Jayaram Banan, a native of the city, is the managing director of the group. This proud hotellier, who took the plunge into the hotel industry at a very young age, has built his empire of hotels from a modest beginning. ‘Sagar’ was the first eatery aimed at serving southern delicacies that had been opened at New Delhi later by Banan, who began his career early in life at Mumbai.

The Pacific – Banquet Halls

The high point of the upcoming hotel in the city is the banquet hall called ‘Pacific’, which can accommodate over a thousand persons easily and can also be divided into 2 or 3 separate banquet halls depending on the need and the size of the event. It is ideal for holding huge parties, gatherings and conferences among others,

Banan said, addressing a press meet in the city on Friday May 7. Banan added that every room and other facility in the hotel have been tastefully decorated. The rooms have wooden flooring. The bathrooms have marble flooring with shower cubicles. Hair dryers are provided, and those residing in the rooms will have access to the facility of ‘doctor on call’, he explained.

The Coral – Multi-cuisine Delight

Another customer-friendly facility being offered by the new hotel is the ‘Coral Kitchen’. Banan added that the hotel being opened by his group will provide a special experience for the people of the city because of the stress placed by the group on customer service, care taken to create an enjoyable experience for the guests, and the determination of the hotel chain to keep the prices at an affordable level.

The Coral kitchen is guided by our most experienced chefs who have drawn awards and accolades for the Swagath chain of restaurants (a part of the Sagar Ratna Group) which have gained immense popularity across Northern India. The Coral offers a variety of multi-cuisine delights and from time to time would host the chef’s challenge wherein the customers simply inform the chef what they crave for and our chefs would take the responsibility of surprising their taste-buds.

On December 4, 1986 Banan ventured into Delhi, the Capital City of India with his concept of a Vegetarian South Indian Restaurant called “SAGAR” in a deserted, sleepy and unknown market of Defence Colony with a seating capacity of just 40.

With sheer hard-work, dedication, personal attention and motivation he has made the very name “SAGAR” synonymous with South Indian delicacies and today SAGAR is a very popular name all over the National Capital Territory as the most affordable chain of vegetarian restaurants for South Indian snacks not only for the masses but also for the classes.

The hardwork, commitment to ensure excellent quality at all costs always backed by quick and efficient service have enabled the growth of this brand to its present strength of 54 branches and 31 franchisee outlets.

The Future

The Sagar Ratna Group has already penned out its plans to expand its reach internationally. In the coming years, Sagar Ratna has plans to venture into major metros of USA, UK, Australia and Bangkok.
