Mandya, Nov 15: BJP MP Pratap Simha has been caught on camera criticising Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, sparking outrage among the latter's supporters.

In the video that has gone viral, Mysuru-Kodagu MP Simha is heard saying, "She (Sumalatha) does not do any work. If there is any work related to Mandya, tell me."

The video has gone viral on social media and supporters of Sumalatha, an independent, have expressed ire against Simha.

When MP Pratap Simha was proceeding to Bengaluru on Thursday, November 12, locals submitted an appeal to him to build a underbridge near Yaliyooru Gate circle. While appraising this matter to the national highway project director, it is said, MP Pratap Simha ridiculed Sumalatha.

In the video, which was recorded by a local, while conversing on his mobile phone, Pratap Simha says, "People of Mandya have voted for Sumalatha Ambareesh with the intention of defeating the family of Deve Gowda. She does not allow any work to be done. If there is any work pertaining to Mandya, tell me. That woman does not get any work done."

Sumalatha had questioned the corruption that has taken place in the Mysuru-Bengaluru 10-lane road project with the project officer. The officer concerned had complained to Pratap Simha in this regard. Supporters of Sumalatha Ambareesh say that Pratap Simha spoke in a derogatory manner in reply to the complaint of the project officer.
