Dubai: Talent Hunt of UAE Amchigele Samaj Witnesses Enthusiastic Response

Dubai, May 10: The annual ‘Talent’s Day Hunt – 2010’, organized by UAE Amchigele Samaj on Friday May 7 at Marco Polo Hotel, Deira, Dubai, witnessed an enthusiastic response from the community members. The programme was organized to bring to the fore the best talents from within the families of the Samaj members.

Samaj president, Ramachandra Hegde, welcomed the audience and exhorted the contestants to put forth their best performances. The judges for the morning session, Nirmala Kamath, Rekha Sujir Nayak and Suman Bhat, were introduced to the audience by Gopalkrishna Prabhu. Judge for hair styling, Smitha Kamath, was introduced by Anil Nayak, and the judges for the evening session, Ramesh Pai, Harish Pai, Mohan Kamath and Shailesh Shenoy, were introduced by Pragathi Shenoy and Veena Hegde.

M/s Right Spices and Grains LLC, Dubai, were the main sponsors for this event. The Samaj office bearers said, the Samaj is grateful to Rekha and K B Ramesh Shenoy, (owners of M/s Right Spices and Grains LLC) for contributing towards the success of the event through their generous gesture. They further said that they also whole heartedly acknowledge the support extended by all the other sponsors for the successful conduct of the Talent Hunt.

The main attraction of this event was the ‘Hair Styling’ and ‘Garland Making’ competitions. These items were introduced for the first time in the Talent Hunt, by the ladies wing of Amchigele Samaj. The response was overwhelming and the participants were found to be exceptionally talented.

This event had a record of 128 entries, surpassing the previous highest entries of 110. Such response was beyond all expectations, and the quality of performances by the participants was also found to be of a higher level. The large gathering of about 350 Samaj members was pleasantly surprised at the superlative exhibition of talents by almost all the contestants, and they remained glued to their seats throughout the event.

The show was anchored by the Samaj’s talented kids, Ashwini Pai, Rachana Hegde, Ameya Mallya, Hamsika Shanbhag, Anirudh Kamath, Nisarga Kini, Aishwarya Shenoy, Anvita Kamath, Vindhya Pai, and Meghana Bhat.

Samaj's vice-president, Ramdas Kini, while proposing vote of thanks to one and all, especially thanked the parents of the participants for the efforts put in by them in preparing their children for the competition, and also informed the Samaj Bandhavas that the Samaj has proposed a scheme of distributing free scholarships to all the Gowda Saraswat Brahmin community students studying in India, from Std X to degree, according to merits and financial status of the individual scholar/parents, and urged the Samaj Bandhavas to support the cause wholeheartedly.

The judges were picked from out of those highly capable members of the Samaj, who have been in the respective fields, having rich knowledge and experience.

Each participant child was given a medal for taking part in the event, and the winners were presented with prizes and certificates.

The Samaj said it is thankful to one and all for their encouragement, and revealed that it has a plan to conduct more such events during the year 2010.
