Mangaluru, Nov 18: Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math Udupi, who also happens to be a trustee of Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said that the task of collecting donations for the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Ram at Ayodhya will be undertaken for 45 days commencing January 15 next year all over the country.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday November 17, he stated that the donation collection has been planned to ensure that all the people partner in this great task. He asked every devotee to individually donate not less than ten rupees and Rs 100 on behalf of entire families. He said that the work of collecting donations will be undertaken by the activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
The Swamiji had recently undertaken pilgrimage to places like Ayodhya, Prayag, and Varanasi etc. He also had participated in the meeting of Vishwa Hindu Parishad guiding council and meeting of the Janmbhoomi Trust. He was here to release a book.
"The temple dedicated to Lord Ram will be entirely built of rocks. Therefore, carrying capacity of earth is being studied there. Tests will be conducted for a depth of about 200 feet. The land there is not solid, it is full of loose soil. Therefore, detailed tests are being conducted before a strong foundation is laid, he explained, duly adding that it might take about three and half years for the construction to complete.
The Swamiji said that experts in the Indian system of Vaastu (system of Indian architecture) will ensure that the construction conforms to Vaastu standards and the Vaastu team includes two from coastal Karnataka, Kudupu Krishnaraj Tantri and Gundibail Subrahmanya Bhat. He said that the team has one person from Kerala and two from north India.
"L&T is in charge of construction while Tata Consultancy will conduct inspection at every stage he stated. He wished that along with the construction of Sri Ram Mandir, the culture of the country will experience a renaissance.
