Bengaluru, Nov 20: Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa had visited New Delhi with the hope that he would be permitted to expand or rejig his cabinet. But he had to return empty handed. A few legislators known to be loyal to Yediyurappa met state president of the party, Nalin Kumar Kateel and complained against certain ministers. This development has made many political observers curious.

MLAs M P Renukacharya and Shankar Munenakoppa were among those who met Kateel. The meeting took place at the party office here on Thursday November 19. They are learnt to have prevailed on Kateel to convince the high command to drop the ministers who are found to be not functioning satisfactorily.

They claimed that many ministers have not been showing any respect to the legislators. "The CM has maintained good rapport and relationship with the MLAs but the ministers are not responsive and they are not properly supporting the development initiatives of the constituency concerned. There are about ten ministers who have an attitude of negligence about the MLAs,” they claimed. They said that 35 legislators can come together and conduct separate meetings but they do not want to create problems for the party and government by doing so. They requested to take away ministerial berths of the inefficient ministers and admit capable ones into the ministry.

Nalin who listened to them, said that he has received complaints about ministers not supporting the development of constituencies. He promised to take up the matter with the CM.

Muniratna, who has won the bypoll held for Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency on behalf of the BJP, also met Nalin. He said he had not met the state president of the party after the result was declared. He said he has not spoken about his admission into the ministry or the portfolio. He said he will manage whatever portfolio is allotted to him.
