Bengaluru: Congress is frustrated, playing politics with Christian community - Joylus D'Souza

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 20: "After the pro-people government led by farmer leader and chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa has attained power in Karnataka, good development works are taking place in the state. As per the ambition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the slogan 'Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas', Yediyurappa is giving all round administration that touches every citizen of society. Unable to bear this, a frustrated Congress party is resorting to play community politics," said Joylus D'Souza, president of Christian Development Committee.

In a press release, Joylus further said, "As per the Kannada saying 'Sarvarigu Samabalu, Sarvarigu Samapalu', in the 2011-12 budget, for the first time in the history of Karnataka, Yediyurappa reserved a grant of Rs 50 crore for the development of the Christian community in the state. Later, he reserved a grant of Rs 200 crore, which is the highest grant, in the 2020-21 budget. Thereby, the honour of giving the maximum grant for the development of the Christian community in the state goes to CM B S Yediyurappa.

"When Ivan D'Souza of the Congress party, who sheds crocodile tears in order to garner votes of Christian community, was the MLC, his own party was in power in the state. Why Ivan, who used to follow the then CM Siddaramaiah everywhere, did not remember the Christian community of the state? People have understood that Ivan, who gives speeches only for propaganda, is not capable of developing the Christian community. That is why today Congress party is on the streets.

"Congress, which points its fingers at BJP with regards to the development of Christian community of the state, should make it public as to what contribution they have given to the Christian community of Karnataka.

"It is proven, in the recently held elections, that the Christian community is supporting CM Yediyurappa, who has given the highest amount of grant to the Christian Development Committee. The Congress party, which is frustrated because of this, is trying to create rift in the society in which the people are living in harmony and peace. By blatant lies, the party is indirectly creating an environment of conflict in the society.

"Christian community of Karnataka has clearly understood the police of the Congress party. People are going to give a fitting reply to them to these kind of lies in the coming days,” he stated in the press release.

Instead of digging at Congress party, you are being part of the ruling party and in a position of authority, just spell out your plans as to how you are going to help the Christian community in solving their problems and improve the situation. Community has started facing every day new problems from the fringe groups affiliated to the ruling party and the latest being the controversy related to Basilica at Attur.

Dear Joylus, you just need to answer these 2 questions:
    1. The reason why the proposed Christian Development Corporation was scrapped after its announcement and inclusion in the budget? Who was responsible for scrapping it?
    2. What are your plans to bring it back as the president of Christian Development Committee?

All the rest is rhetoric & bla...bla..

Are you there in BJP on Merit? Or to fill some of the reserved minority posts?
Try to get a ticket from BJP for an MP Seat then we will sit to talk.

I know congress is also not an excuse; this party is from elite people for the elite, and thier inheritor. Common man never gets a chance to represent people at large may be one or two exceptions.

If you don't understand the politics of parties such as BJP, Congress then you are also working for your interest, not the people. So let's not hide behind the real motive.

It is a fact that Congress have used Christians for vote bank politics only....sometimes I wonder why we should blindly support Congress, when they only give us lip service and nothing else...nothing will, or has happened to our community in the past, or in the future, under BJP as long as some sects don't do any conversions...the hindu community will not tolerate this....otherwise, we are completely safe in BJP rule. Do you all know how many District Commissioners Yogiji has appointed in UP who are Christian? Do you know the amount of respect Yogiji gives to Christian Institutions and Priests in Varanasi and elsewhere in UP? Open your eyes brothers and Sisters.

Let me not mince any words, but be forthright in declaring that the INC, has taken the entire, peaceful, patriotic, community, which has excelled in providing social, medical and educational services, has been taken for granted a " Jolly Ride " to say the least ..The situation in Karnataka, is very Similar to my state of Maharashtra, Goa and rest of India. This blatant " Lip Service " has to be exposed !! Christians support to any party is not conditional. We will have to weigh, every political options, that benefits the entire Christian community !!!!

One last chance, if congress does not deliver in the next election, all the congress chamchas will jump to BJP. It is already happening.

I don't think the common Christian on the street ever knows or government is giving grants whether it was by congress or bjp . This grant is in a name for corruption. Congress is good at inventing corruption and bjp is good at utilizing the same for itself.

As voter minorities do not require government grants hence should be stoped.

The chapter of CAA is closed. Why digging the same issue? The process of granting citizenship to persecuted refugees from three countries is in full swing in the states bordering Pakistan. A Hindu woman from Pakistan even became a member of a village panchayat in Rajasthan. Had she got this golden opportunity if she had remained back in Pakistan? Now get ready to protest against UCC.

This man is misleading the christian community by giving wrong figures and informataion. Chief Minister proposed of setting up Karnataka Christian Development Corporation and he alloted Rs.200 crores of funds for this. But at the last moment chief minister cancelled the proposal. He says that in the recently held elections Christians supported Mr. Yediyurappa. This is all his publicity stunt. Come out with correct facts and figures. Talk about your party's achivement. You are not representing the community.
