Kasargod, Nov 24: The lifeless body of an Uppala resident who had drowned in a river near Maniampare Perla, Kasargod was finally found on Tuesday.

The deceased was Uppala, Hidayath Nagar resident Imtiaz Mohammed (43). He had drowned while having a bath on Saturday evening. Local people, police personnel and the fire department had launched a search operation to look for him in the water on the basis of the information provided by a young girl who had accompanied him. However, they were unable to find Imtiaz.

On Tuesday morning, locals of the area found Imtiaz's body on the branch of a tree at a little distance from the place where he had drowned. The police have launched an investigation into the matter and have sent the body to Kasargod general hospital for post-mortem.

Imtiaz was engaged in the shipping business in the past. However, he was recently employed as a taxi driver.

    a middle aged man goes to a river for bath... accompanied by a young girl?.... that too in the evening (late evening??) ... and while having bath... drowns? ... next day morning.... the said to be drowned man's body found on the branch of a tree...

    difficult to make sense out of these kasaragod specialties...
