Puttur: Runaway vehicle leaves two dead

Puttur, Nov 30: In an accident which happened at Hunasekatte on Kallery-Kuppetty Road, two persons riding a two-wheeler were killed. The accident happened at around 9 pm on Sunday November 29.

Krishna Shetty (38) from Uruvalu village, and Jayanand Gowda (27), resident of Naralike in Kaniyoor village, lost their lives in this accident.

Both of them used to work as construction supervisors. After the day's work, they were returning home in a motorbike when a pick-up jeep which came from the opposite direction, hit their vehicle. Both of them were tossed to the road and breathed their last on the spot.

The pick-up vehicle sped away after causing the accident. After sometime, it was found abandoned by the roadside on Alike road at Tannirpantha village.

Uppinangady police visited the spot. More details about the deceased could not be immediately accessed.
