Mangalore: Milestone Music Concert at Don Bosco Hall on May 30

Mangalore, May 20: Milestone Music Concert under the leadership of well-known singer Kevin Misquith will stage a musical concert at Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday May 30.
The concert will have the compositions of multi-talented songwriter and composer, Kevin Misquith. The show is also conceptualized and envisioned by Kevin himself, and organized by Milestone Band under his leadership. Floid Pereira, bass guitarist and Joel Milan on the drums are the guest artists for the event.
The show will also pay tribute to great legends of Konkani music like Alfred Rose, Chris Perry, Jerome D’Souza, Ullas Bhuyav, C Alvares, P H Pinto, MickMax, Lawerence Saldanha and Henry D’Souza, by performing their classic numbers and taking the people back to the golden era of Konkani songs, while trying to revive interest in Konkani music among the younger generation.
It will also present the new age compositions of Kevin, without distorting the original essence of Konkani music. The concert promises to entertain all the age groups, while being a complete family entertainer. Earlier, the band had given its first performance Suratkal Church Grounds on February 14 last. A crowd of over 1,000 people were witness to this splendid and enthralling musical concert. The concert had received a lot of appreciation from the music lovers as well as the critics.
About Milestone Band
Milestone is one of the most youthful and talented music bands of Mangalore. Milestone has carved out a place for itself in the hearts of the people of Mangalore and Udupi districts despite the fact that the band came into existence barely a year ago in 2009.
Milestone has always enthralled the audience with their performances ranging from soft ballads, disco, rock, pop, folk, fusion to foot-tapping baila numbers. Milestone plays all kinds of genres with a blend of coastal essence to go with it. Milestone would not intend to have any barrier of language to it, but Konkani language and music is its first love and always a priority.
Kevin Misquith, lead vocalist, a well known singer and composer, is the main force behind the formation of Milestone Music band. He is well known among the Konkani music lovers around the world. Making his appearance in the Konkani music scene at a very young age, he has performed consistently since his entry into the music field.
Misquith is supported by Ashwin Sequeira, the lead guitarist and co-vocalist of the band and also the co-founder of Milestone. He lends his voice to add to the magic which defines the band, while Sanjay Rodrigues, talented young lad from Mangalore is the man on the keys.
