Mangaluru: CBI registers FIR against deputy chief controller, explosives safety

Mangaluru, Dec 4: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered the first information report (FIR) against the deputy chief controller of The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) Mangaluru office. The official, identified as S M Mannan, has been accused of possessing assets in excess of his known sources of income.

As per the calculations of the CBI, the official acquired assets that were 58.94 per cent more than his income between 2011 and 2019.

CBI says it has found assets worth Rs 76.57 lac more in the names of Mannan and his family members than their known sources of income. This was visible on the face of it, and the CBI officials are now moving to question Mannan and together with the details of assets he bought.
