Mangaluru, Dec 5: Netizens have heavily criticized the reckless driving of nearly 15 vehicles escorting the ambulance in a negligent way while shifting a 22-year-old patient suffering from pulmonary disease from Puttur to Bengaluru in zero traffic.

On Wednesday, ambulance driver Mohammed Haneef shifted the patient from a private hospital in Puttur to Vydehi Hospital in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

In the video, more than 15 four-wheelers escorting the ambulance were noticed. The occupants in the vehicles popping out their heads through windows and reckless driving was heavily criticised.

Moreover, at Thanniruhalla in Hassan, a bicycle rider who watching the shifting of a patient in zero traffic had luckily escaped unhurt, while a Scorpio car driver could not control his vehicle. Though, people lauded the ambulance driver for shifting the patient in a short span of time, the public have heavily criticised reckless driving of private vehicles that escorted the patient's ambulance.

Superintendent of police B M Lakshmi Prasad stated to an English daily that the video clip has come to his notice but no complaint was received, as the footage was from the Hassan district.
