Dubai, Dec 6: As part of the economic stimulus package announced by the Dubai Government the Dubai Customs has launched an initiative offering 80 per cent discount on fines in customs cases. The discount will be given for violations before March 31. This move will help businesses put off some covid-19 pandemic losses.
Director-General of Dubai Customs said “The latest move will give a new impetus to the government’s stimulus package measures towards easing the impact of Covid-19 circumstances on the national economy and ensuring uninterrupted business continuity.”
The discount will be applicable to uncollected customs fines and fines that have been paid in instalments.
The customs has set December 31 as deadline to settle dues.
