Bantwal: Street dogs hound people of Vittal

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Dec 7: The street dog menace within the limits of Vittal town panchayat has reached new levels. The people are complaining about the woeful failure of the local administration in controlling the dogs.

Children and elders going on a stroll or some other purpose are followed by the dogs. They get entrenched on the routes used by the people and scare them. Not less than five street dogs are aways found lying in the courtyard of the town panchayat office located in the rear side of the bus stand. They feast on the food the passengers throw at them and threaten people going to the panchayat or library there.

The people say that the town panchayat is expected to sterilize the dogs and to vaccinate them against rabies but it has not been doing anything. Eyewitnesses say that a rabid dog which appeared two days back at the Vittal downtown bit and injured over six people. It also bit a few street dogs, they stated.

The chief officer of the town panchayat says that the problem of street dogs has been explained to people's representatives and based on their opinion, action will be taken soon.

BJP government looks after the needs of abandoned cows and feeds them with fodder and other medical care. They can further extend their good will towards these dogs too.
They have to bear in mind that their population will not multiply at the place of dog shelters.

It is very bad.Once dogs are accustomed with street food from people ,then they expect from every person who passes by the same.when not will be aggressive.Thatswhy Panchayat must make people understand and verbid not to feed them .Instead give them at a place fixed. Why did noone react to dog bite and taken injection to be safe? Negligence from all sides. These dogs might one day attack small children when hungry.

Very true Sahil , being a stray dogs feeder I know their love , affection , gratitude & wafadary very well . Only hungry dogs are roaming arround in search of food or else they will sleep in a corner if their stomach is full .

In the picture also one can see the dogs are sleeping silently. Some people comment here like dogs are tigers .

Dogs trained at home are faithful and healthy dogs. These street dogs have no faithfulness. They just wander for food. They do not have owner.

Animal care trust does not sterile the dogs. Everywhere we find the puppies some die and some survive. If we tell also like a king they go on the main road and tell they did not find any dogs. Some body should stay at home and show the dogs for sterilization. Who will stay at home for dog sake. Everybody have work.

Some brave person should come forward and collect all dogs and live them in Chief ministers house or Menaka Gandhis house. Or live in them in Animal care trust leaders house.

Only mad dogs (Rabies affected dogs) bite....unlike human beings. Otherwise dogs are more faithful than human beings.

Charles D'Mello, Pangala, I agree with your sensible comments to some extent but it all depends on what kind of dog they are.
