Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 8: Dakshina Kannada (DK) district has so far not shown any adverse effects connected with the bandh call given on Tuesday December 8. Transport vehicles are moving about normally. Government and private buses are running.

It is gathered that drivers of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) are dithering from discharging duty on Mysuru and north Karnataka routes as they are afraid that the protesters might pelt stones at the vehicles. Still, buses have been lined up for long route travel at the bus stand. The staff may review their decisions on the way depending on the situation ahead.

Farmer organizations have given call for Tuesday’s Bharat Bandh. In coastal Karnataka, the response to the bandh call may generally be mixed. Various organizations including farmer unions, labour and union of pro-people agitations have supported the bandh call. They have lent full support to the bandh call.

Dakshina Kannada Muslim Union has extended support for the bandh call. Rasta Roko agitation is planned near Nanthoor Circle here at 10 am on Tuesday.

In Udupi, so far there is no evidence of any support for the bandh call in the district. Buses, taxis and auto rickshaws are moving about normally. City, express, KSRTC and service buses are running as per their routine. Police security in the city has been reinforced with additional personnel. In the evening, like-minded organizations have planned a protest.

These two districts burn only when religion is at risk. People here are very selfish and wakeup only when their home is on fire. Moreover hardly any farmers left in these districts.

Perhaps,, here out in Mlore all supports and protests are online. Mocking or bashing Modi,BJP, RSS. When it calls for ground level action , some hide indoors, like we saw in the CAA protest. So all have learnt a lesson and play safe now,
