Mangaluru, Dec 8: In solidarity of Bharat Bandh, several organisations including farmers’ association, Congress, CPIM, DYFI and social activists, staged a protest here at Nanthoor on Tuesday December 8, against the three farm laws enacted by the Centre.

The protestors blocked the road.

District president of Hasiru Sene Raithara Sangha Oswald said, "Several farmers are staging protests in New Delhi against the union government but the government is taking action against farmers by stopping them with tear gas. Farmers' income has not doubled yet but politicians' income has doubled. We are suspicious that Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced lockdown and asked everyone to sit at home to amend this bill. The government did not even think to consult with the concerned before the bills were being amended. The government can be termed as ‘anti-farmers government’."

Former MLC Ivan D'Souza said, "Since 12 days, farmers are on the streets protesting against farm bills introduced by the union government. The government could not see smiles on the face of farmers and the atrocities on them and wants farmers to bow down to corporate companies. The government wants to put farmers in deep trouble. When farmers place their demands, the government comes up with a policy which is against farmers and favouring the investors and corporate companies. It does not have time to speak with the farmers and resolve their issues, but during elections they visit every place to address people to ensure their victory. This is how farmers are being neglected. We demand to withdraw the farm bills immediately.”

Raithara Sangha leaders Balakrishna Shetty, Manoj Shetty, DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla, social activist Vidya Dinaker, Kissan Congress district president Mohan Gowda, farmer association leader K Yadav Shetty, CPIM leader Vasanth Acharya and others were present.

Nice to see people discarding fear to come out openly and expressing solidarity with our agitating farmers and against this Suit Boot Ki Sarkar.

This BJP Govt has been passing a lot of Anti Peoples Laws taking advantage of the Pandemic. These three Farm Laws were passed even without a debate nor was opinion taken from all the stake holders. There was even no discussions in Parliment and finally the farm bills were passed with a voice vote in the Rajya Sabha in a most deceitful manner throwing all democratic norms to the winds. A lesson and an eye openor to all Indians of the Aucocratic and Arrogant manner in which a Single Party will trample on the rights of its citizens to please a few Crony Capitalists.

If Indira Gandhi could Nationalize so many private banks, then a National Govt in future should Nationalize all companies of Ambani and Adani and restore the National wealth and all its enterprises taken over by these groups to the citizens of our country.

Real farmers might be toiling hard on their fields today, these jobless fake farmers are on the streets. Ask this Ivan ( so called farmer) or any of their leader to come and debate in the studio live about what in the bill are they objecting about. They will not have any answer. Vetern anti Modi Journolist Shekar Gupta himself defends the reforms of the Bill and sees it essential to widen the market for farmer. So does renowned Agriculturists. The real loosers are middelman here not farmers. 95% of the people on streets do not know what they are protesting for.

Yes, one point of declaring lock down for an infection that is just like any other flu had diabolic intentions.
Bill Gates whom our courts had barred from entering India after his HPV virus trial on thumb literate Adivasi girls which maimed & had killed a few in Andra, NGO's rose up & chased this shady philanthropist out of India then. But in around 2017 his ban was lifted by our present govt., he had come last year in September to devise a plan to introduce Farm Laws that will benefit corporate entities more than farmers, thereby they can introduce Genetically Engineered seeds here which are known to cause cancers & other allergic reactions in many countries .
The person who created Corona virus knew it will be easier to introduce farm bills without protesters getting permission to protest with Covid Draconian Regulations & Plan Successful, but he underestimated resolve of our farmers who produce our grains & vegetables to fruits being pushed to the brink will hit back hard.
The Farm Distress of nearly a decade was not addressed properly by any govts, & with farmer suicides rocking many families & govts. looking other way the Land Grabbers thought they have golden opportunity to take over farms without paying much & easily can control the whole Nation as food & water are those resources whoever controls it will control the whole nation & its wealth.
Big Entities now can buy cheap & horde it until they can make a fortune, people will have to pay higher rates in future as they have no other option. All people should realize without toeing party lines as they will be paying ultimate price for not supporting our farmers. This can be seen in daily rise of petrol & fuel prices without any party opposing the govt., as mute spectators.
Time to Wake Up, there won't be second Chance if we don't protest & become real rulers & servants ruling us think they are royal people who command us & expect us to Obey.
