Ajman, Dec 10: Thumbay University Hospital, here, the largest private academic hospital established by Thumbay Group under its healthcare division, celebrated its first anniversary with a thank you note by Dr Thumbay Moideen – the founder president of Thumbay Group who was the chief guest in the presence of Prof Hossam Hamdy – the chancellor of Gulf Medical University, Akbar Moideen Thumbay vice president of the healthcare division, Manveer Singh Walia – chief operating officer, Dr Fozi Dakilah- medical director and Nancy Mendonca- chief nursing officer of Thumbay University Hospital Ajman and members of the hospital’s administrative team and hospital staff.
Thumbay University Hospital– Ajman was inaugurated on December 9, 2019 by His Highness Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman. It is part of the Gulf Medical University Academic Health System (GMUAHS), the first private academic health system in the region, and provides clinical training to the students of Gulf Medical University. Its inception expanded Thumbay Group’s foray into healthcare, with many more academic hospitals, family clinics and daycare hospitals part of the group’s healthcare division. Today, Thumbay Hospitals constitute the biggest network of private academic hospitals in the region.
Dr Thumbay Moideen said that the first anniversary of Thumbay University Hospital Ajman is a proud milestone for the group. “When Thumbay University Hospital Ajman was built, it was primarily with the purpose of providing adequate training facilities to the students of Gulf Medical University, Ajman. However, today it stands tall as one of the best hospitals in the UAE and a popular medical tourism destination in the region."

Thumbay University Hospital features a dedicated 100-bed long-term care and rehabilitation unit, 10 modern surgical suites for all major specialties, Center for Imaging, Cath Lab, ICU/CCU/NICU/PICU, 10-bed dialysis unit, etc. The hospital also has 10 labor and delivery rooms, NICU, SCBU and Well Baby Unit.
