Mangalore Plane Crash: 10 More Bodies Identified Through DNA Test

Mangalore, May 26: Ten bodies of the victims including two bodies of the Flight crew have been identified through the DNA test done by experts at Hyderabad of May 22 Mangalore Plane crash.  This was disclosed by Seemanth Kumar Singh, commissioner of police Mangalore at a press conference held on Wednesday, May 26 at the SP office.

The bodies identified are of Arun Joyel Fernandes, Muhammad Ziyad of Mangalore in K S Hegde hospital, Althaf Muhammad in Father Muller hospital, Mahesh Ramesh Kodkani of Dandeli in Coloco hospital and Naveed Ibrahim, Siraj of Udupi in KMC hospital. Three bodies of Keralites were also identified.  They are Biju John in City hospital, Umeshan Vijayan in SCS hospital and Muhammad Basheer Kasar in city hospital. 

Two of the flight crew whose bodies identified are Uganthar Rana and Muhammad Ali.  With this only twelve more bodies are yet to be identified.

Adding to the reporter’s queries about the returning of the jewels of the victims to their respective families, Comissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that jewels of the victims will be displayed at the Air India Express office located near Lalbaugh so that the families can claim the belongings of their loved ones.

    This flight is come from Dubai. How will be relatives come to know which jewellery he or she had. this is difficult to choose.

    This is utter negligence of the department. After the identification of Master Zubair Ziyad and Baby Zainab Ziyad's body relative should recover from mortgage, if concern department fails to release, how the relatives control themselves by without funeral, any one should show the anger and anguish

    People should be sincere and God fearing in claiming the personal affects and jewellary of the victims.

    Seconldy what happened to the missing baby boy of Ziads family whose body was not claimed pending DNA test? Daiji, please give us more light on the issue.
