Kasargod: Political Vengeance Costs 500 Chicken Their Lives

Daijiworld Media Network – Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jun 9: In a mob fury fuelled by political passions, 500 chickens being bred in a poultry farm in Ambalattara in the district were killed by immersing the birds in a water tank, on Tuesday June 8.

A gang barged into the poultry farm being run by K T Madhavi from Cherur in Ambalattara. The gang members then snatched batches of chicken from their pens and drowned them in a water tank located nearby. The owner had bought the birds a few days ago, it is learnt.

Madhavi, who was for long a CPM activist, had recently joined the BJP. In a complaint filed with the policemen, Madhavi has accused the CPM activists of indulging in this massacre, to show their disapproval of her shift in political loyalties. She also said that the CPM workers had threatened her in the past, of resorting to vengeance for deserting their party.
