Islamabad, June 9 (IANS) The Pakistan army is highly motivated and fully capable of defeating conventional and unconventional threats posed to the country, chief of army staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said.
It is harmonisation of socio-political, administrative and military strategies that will usher an environment of peace and stability in the long term, the Online news agency quoted the army chief as saying.
Kayani was addressing officers of Command and Staff College, Quetta, Tuesday.
Ultimately it is the will of the people and their support that is decisive. It is critical that Pakistan army's efforts are backed by the nation, the army chief said.
Kayani told the audience that efforts were being made to equip the army with modern and best possible hardware, within the given resources.
