Mangalore, Jun 11:  Michael Fernandes, president of Hind Mazdoor Panchayat, Karnataka, social activist and union leader visited the Xavier Industrial Training Centre (XITC), Assaigoli here along with his brothers Paul and Aloysius Fernandes and trustee of the Lawrence Fernandes Foundation Fredrick D’Sa.
 
He presented a cheque to cover the expenses of the new mechanic consumer electronics course introduced by the centre from the academic year.

Fredrick D’Sa, trustee and Paul Fernandes spoke on the occasion. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Xavier Educational Trust and the Lawrence Fernandes Foundation.

Fr Victor Machado, parish priest of St Francis Xavier’s Church, Bejai was the chief guest.

J J V Fernandes, founder chairman of Xavier Educational Trust welcomed the gathering. Michael Mascrenhas, treasurer read out a brief report of activities. F M Lobo, secretary of the trust proposed the vote of thanks.
