Mangaluru, Jan 19: Chairman of Karnataka State Minorities Commission, Abdul Azeem, said that he has passed instructions to the officials to work by taking people into confidence and without causing communal disharmony. He was addressing a press meet in the city on Monday January 18.

"People of Dakshina Kannada are known to have excelled in educational sector. If they maintain communal harmony, the district can emerge as a model for the entire state. In addition to maintaining law and order situation in the state, the commission lays emphasis on maintaining communal harmony," he explained.

Azeem said that the report on Wakf land misuse will be discussed by the house in the next session. He also informed that due to financial problems created by coronavirus and other reasons, grants have been cut for several schemes. Therefore, problems have erupted relating to sanction of scholarship and other schemes he said, and promised to discuss the matter with the chief minister and take steps as may be necessary.
