Mangaluru: Police plan action against social website 'Nee Thantre Ba Thant'

Mangaluru, Feb 1: Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) of the city commissionerate here, Hariram Shankar, said that legal steps will be taken against the social website group, 'Nee Thantre Ba Thant' that appears to be planning to create friction between two groups in the city.

He said that in the said social website, videos which were earlier uploaded are used by editing the content, or by using videos that are newly created and streamed through YouTube channel. He said that the footage was created with the help of fake documents, which is apparently planned to give rise to friction between different groups.

He said that a case in this respect has been registered in the cyber police station. He said that action will also be taken against those who create and manage fake pages. He warned that people trying to disturb social harmony will be dealt with sternly.
