Mangalore, Jun 22: The body of Ganesh Mallya (39), an autorickshaw driver by profession, was found from near the Pachchnadi dumping yard in the outskirts of the city on the morning of Tuesday June 22.

Some passersby, who saw the body, conveyed the information to the policemen. Apparently, the body was hanging from the end of a rope tied to a tree. The deceased was a resident of B V Nagar in Pachchnadi, it is learnt.

The personnel of the rural police station here have registered a case of suicide. The policemen said that they are yet to ascertain reasons that drove Mallya towards committing suicide, and that they are holding investigations into the matter.

In the meanwhile, some locals, who had gathered at the spot of the autorickshaw driver’s death, suspected that it was a case of murder, as the deceased had some long-standing enmity with some people. More information on this aspect however, is not available.

Doesnt look like suicide.. Look at the pics..

    > Look at the string (NOT ROPE) he is hanging from, doesnt look like it can bear his weight.

    > You cannot commit suicide from that height, unless the cops have lowered the body.

    > if he was hanging above the ground, did he jumpoff the tree to hang himself, again will the string(not rope) bear his weight.

    > Look at the tree, doesnt look like it would bear his weight

But anyways, i guess our Police dept is well qualified to investigate and come out with the truth

    Mr. Shetty, Udupi,

Suicide meance not sleep/laydown and tie the knot to neck!

Tie the knot first and then dive from the tree!

Here it shows opposite, what has to be done first that done last and what has to be done last done first!

Again those who beleive need no explanation and those who don't beleive there is no explanation!

Dear Mr.Shetty & his followers..You failed to recognize me & my view.Point No.1, I am not a female and point No.2 ,I guessed from the photos where DEAD MAN'S half body is touching ground. It is only my opinion.Next step is Post martem ,if it indicates murder, then police must investigate his friends, relatives and find out the reason. But ,I am surprised that why you didn't get doubt about that ?

The height at which the body is hanging, i cannot understand how this guy can kill himself. It is as good as saying that a 6 ft person drowned in a 2 ft pond/tank. Looks like he tied the rope standing and then sat down to kill him self? The police should prove that it is a suicide before closing this case. The picture is worth thousand words.

I fully agree with you, there are many "Forensic Scientists" amongst commentators of Daiiji World, I found this on my first visit to Daiiji World.

They can determine which side of Udyavar river you live by sitting about 1500 KMs from Udyavar river(USA)...,

Oh very bad incident. As my friend Mr Jaimini said, it clearly indicates a case of murder. How come police register a case of suicide when circumstantial image shows it as murder? By registering it as suicide plice can easily close the case or else they have to struggle a lot to get to the murderers.
