Kasargod: Two-year-old dies after television set falls on him

Kasargod, Feb 4: In a heart-rending incident which was reported from Bovikkana here, a two-year old child was killed after a television set fell on its head.

The victim of the incident was Muhammed Shakir, the only child of Nisar-Fayisa couple from Tekkil Ukrampady. The fateful incident happened on Wednesday February 3 at the residence of Shakir's grandmother at Bovikkana.

The child, when playing, pulled at the cable attached to the television set. The set along with its stand fell down, making a huge sound. The family members who rushed there after hearing the sound, found that the television set and the stand had got deposited on the child.

Shakir, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Kasargod hospital, but his life could not be saved.

    very sad.This accident could have easily avoided I think.When a child of two years is around ,playing,one should be always alert,dont leave alone .have to watch them.many children go the TV apparat and want to change channel.put another programm etc.They do so fast that one cant run behind them.Very sad.Its a wonder tv didnt burst and got fire.May the soul of this angel rest with angels above.Heartfelt sympathy the family.

    Little angel rest in peace. One of my cousin son also died in similar circumstance.
