Udupi: One arrested for cheating job aspirants through social media

Udupi, Feb 7: CEN police have arrested a person who was duping people by promising jobs and taking money and laptops from them.

The arrested accused is Nishanth S Kumar (21), a resident of Kaup.

Police arrested Nishanth on Saturday February 6 and seized 7 laptops and a mobile valued around Rs 1,50,000.



The operation was conducted under the guidance of Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan and a case has been filed by Udupi district CEN department in-charge Ramchandra Nayak. The case has been filed under IT act 66 (c), 66 (d) and IPC section 420.

CEN department assistant sub inspector Keshav Gowda and staff Prasanna, Jeevan, Raghavendra and jeep driver Jeevan also took part in the operation.
