Mangaluru: Fatal collision between car, bike - 40-year-old Ullal ASI severly injured

Mangaluru, Feb 7: In a fatal collision between a car and bike, the ASI of Ullal police station suffered severe injuries. The accident occurred on Sunday, February 7 in Koila, in front of Durgamba Garage near Ullal. The injured ASI has been identified as Shekhar Gatti (40) resident of Malayalakodi. 

Shekhar's two kids who were on the bike with him suffered minor injuries and are out of danger. However, Shekhar's legs were badly injured in the accident.

As per reports, Shekhar was on his Bullet bike with his two kids when a car hit his vehicle and then ran over his legs. The car was moving towards Kerala.

Locals and police immediately took him to a hospital at Deralakatte.

Shekhar has been stationed at Ullal police station for two years.

Nagori traffic police station has registered a case in this connection.

    How many of you have read the entire article before commenting? "Shekhar (a cop) was on his Bullet bike with his two kids when a car hit his vehicle and then ran over his legs. " Summary - A cop was riding his Bike with 2 Kids. I understand he was breaking the traffic rules and thereby endangering himself and the riders.

    strictly action by police department for accident case and cancel license. Fine and jail who don't want to follow traffic rules. Groups and brigades please take action on traffic violators instead follow love birds.

    I feel very sad when I see the news of the accident. Cars nowadays drive fast and there should be good monitoring by police. Lucky that the children were not injured here Hope the injured person also recover. My prayers. We should be very careful when we drive Hope everything become ok My prayers

    Please traffic police get a grip on the condition here these days cars are flying on roads crossing roads has become a massive task before crossing should call all gods and cross. Now with almost all roads becoming concrete this is only going to increase.being in the system of tracking car speeds and send tickets to their houses trying to stop a speeding car is not safe for both parties

    Cars from Kerala are always overspeeding whether they are inside the city or on highway. Also, motorists( 2wheeler & 4 wheeler) drive on wrong side in places like thokkottu, Kolya, Yekkur, Kallapu .... which sometimes confuse those who are on right direction. Concerned authorities, pls keep a tight vigil on these aspects too.
